RAINBOW FISH

Last week Mrs Wallace read us the story of the Rainbow Fish.  The Rainbow Fish had beautiful scales that all the other fish wanted to have but he wouldn't give them any.  The other fish were sad and didn't want to be his friend so they talked to him about it.  In the end the Rainbow fish decided to share his pretty scales which made the other's happy and they were all friends again.

OUR MAGICAL MATHS

We have all been working very hard over the last couple of weeks.  Here are some pictures of us working with our maths groups on different strategies.

We are learning to count on and back from the biggest number consistently.

We are learning to add to 10 first then when we are adding more than two numbers.

We are learning that the same number can be made up of different groups.

WELCOME TO 2019

Welcome to Room 2's blog for 2019.  This year we are a Year 3/4 class.  Our Year 4's are fully digital so that is exciting.  Our teachers are Mrs Carruthers and Mrs Meikle.  Watch this space for all our to view some of the great learning we will be doing!

Fractions

We have been learning about halves and quarters.  We had a great time making our own lunch.  We made sandwiches and cut them in halves and quarters.  We also had mini pizzas and fruit.  Take a look at our slide show.
